I hate to admit it, but I used (black) Gorilla Tape on mine. (I've got a bright-metal "Expedition" license frame that will cover this up, BTW.)IMG_20180611_085744[1].jpg

Get a pack of the square nylon license plate anchors:

On my truck I drilled holes with a diameter matching the narrowest part of the anchor's flat sides. With the holes drilled, I used a utility knife to square off the holes, pressed the anchors in, and screwed the mount to the bumper. Takes all of 10 minutes to do all 4 including the time to find the right drill bit.

Thanks mjp2. I got mine to stay but I don’t like it. I’ll try your suggestion in the spring.

They make an insert with threads. Just size it to your holes you have now and it should work.
