Hi Guys, stopped by to share my experience this weekend with my Expedition Eddie Bauer 2007. I finally got to purchase the CRC Mass Airflow Sensor Cleaner as part of my tune due tasks with my Expedition.

Even with a clean air filter, new sparks and other stuff I always had a rattling sound when accelerating... thought it was fuel quality but I finally nailed it. The cleaning process took me no more than 10 mins plus the waiting time for the MAF cleaning liquid to completely dry before installing. Huge difference in performance and now the rattle is over. I will attach pictures of the before and after. It is pivotal that you only clean your MAF sensor with MAF cleaner ONLY... do not use any other products as they can leave residues that will affect the readings of the sensor.

For 12$ you can do this at your own house and will see great results. The instructions in the MAF cleaner says to do this every time you change your air filter and I will do so.

See the pictures attached... hope this helps to tune your Expedition as it did with mine.

Stay safe!

Thanks to this thread I cleaned my MAF yesterday and put in a K&N filter and instant improvement in throttle response and acceleration so thank you!

Great to hear Geoff and glad my post helped. Just be careful with K&N filters, especially if is one of those that use oil to work.

I do this every time I change an airfilter on my vehicles. Its quick and cheap, a rare combo these days. I used to do it every few months when I ran a fender well intake w/ an oiled filter on a previous vehicle. It got dirty quickly due to the cone being deep down inside the bumper cover. I had close to ambient IAT though so I dealt with it.

I clean the Maf once a year, ever since I started using K&N filters in all my vehicles. In the 20 years, I only noticed a real difference in the expedition after cleaning. The Expedition has the CAI and the rest drop in filters.

While driving or stopped?

While driving my intake temp is exactly what my outside temp is. According to my UltraGauge. Stopped it will creep up a little/ faster in the summer with the AC on.

Stopped, generally you'll see near ambient while moving unless its just a really terrible intake. It would creep up a bit if sat for longer than usual at an intersection and the pavement was scorching hot on a summer day. It was my old regal. The fwi had a rubber elbow that took the cone down into the area just behind the bumper. I had a block off plate with a gasket that sealed out engine bay heat pretty well. I ran a dual Aeroforce gauge setup to keep tabs on everything. They're handy little things for sure, also one of the few things out there where you could get a Buick boot logo as well. It completed the look nicely.
