Wow, nice. Check the belt, belt tensioner, pulleys, etc. I just hit 180K and my belt tensioner went from barely making a chirp to nearly eating through my front cover in about 10 days.

excellent feedback guys thank you very much..

The biggest weakness I see in these trucks. Maybe just because I’m up north but Ford did not do well with the undercoating constantly managing rust had to do all brake lines, transfer case has been remanufactured other than that some nonsense stuff here and there but overall I’m very pleased I see a lot of similarities that you guys post here that I’m dealing with may have to do head gaskets soon and also exhaust manifold leak.

Just picked yup factory amp sub going install - anybody know if factory sub amp can take pre-amp signals or it’s it high level?

thank you for the recommendations.

almost forgot what should I be greasing under the truck?

Look for blue smoke out of the tail pipe for lengthy periods of time when starting - a sure fire sign of bad valve stem seals usually.
Hope you changed out the sparkplugs they tended to blow out and well known issue.

I just turned 349,000 on my 2000 EB and just do the same repetitive maintenance program that was done with the vehicle since new. I know it likely is a waste of money, but I still replace the oil every 3,000 miles, and replace the other fluids more often than the service manual calls for, but it's been worth the effort and small extra cost. I do an annual safety check which includes inspecting of u-joints and front end bushings, typical wear items that at some point will need replacing.

Electrically the truck has been amazing. The only failure I have had was a driver's side door lock switch that was starting to fail and was replaced cheaply and with about 10 minutes worth of work.

I suspect that I may be getting close to having a transmission or torque converter failure, they won't last forever, and I'll have to make a decision on whether it's worth it to fix the issues. The interior has held up well for 20 years of service. I did have the driver's side seat bottom redone in original material so it matches perfectly. Paint is good due to being garaged.

So it's all been just the normal routine service work and inspections that is expected of any high-mileage vehicle. The 5.4L engine and transmission for me have been reliable beyond expectations. No oil or fluid leaks either. After having the truck so long it seems like part of the family, I'd hate to lose it.

You just expressed how I feel about my ole gal. 218,*** and counting

I just got a 2000 XLT with the 4.6 (226,000 mi) and am going through and checking things out. I had brake problems that I'm in the process of fixing as well as a torque converter lockup issue.

I'm getting 13 MPG for mostly highway driving and working on getting those numbers up. Cleaning the EGR passages and replacing the fuel filter will be my first steps.

Plugs and coils were replaced 10k ago by previous owner.

Good luck with getting the MPG numbers up from 13....my 2004 & 2006 with the 5.4 got maybe 13 down hill with the wind pushing it on a good day. Average was 11-12.

I’d have to try really hard to get my 2007 to drop below 14. I’d have to floor it at every light to drop that low lol. I’ve done city only for months at a time before in mid winter and never got below 14.

My 12 only gets 13 at best. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Wow, that's awful. If I stomp on it all day long, I'll run about 13.5. Normally, I'm at 15.6-15.7. If I do a lot of highway it can run up in the 17s.

Latest tank was 14.4. We shall see what happens. I'm in the process of trying to de-sludge the engine. The more I drive it, it seems to be working as the valvetrain is quieting down and I'm regaining some power.
