Posted a question one time about whether or not V10's were ever offered/proposed for the Expedition and got two types of responses.

No, not done.

Why would I ask since there's no room for one anyway.

Not saying there is room, but I happened to have my phone in my pocket when I had the hood up the other day. Took some pictures to show the distance/opening between the front of the engine and the electric fans behind the radiator.

Compared to other cars/trucks I have it seems to be a lot of space.

Keep in mind the V10 is a fair bit longer than the 5.4. If you've never seen one in a Super Duty, they are not compact. I'll see if I can find some measurements..

A weight comparison would be important.

I couldn't find a length comparison, but the weight in this case wouldn't be as important as the overall length.

Yes, it is heavier, but it will be less than a hundred pounds, surely.

Well, isn't the Expedition on a basically 1/2 ton PU frame? While the Excursion is on a 3/4 ton PU frame?

I know one of my uncles had two Excursions. One with the 6.0 diesel (which he got tired of staying in the shop all the time so he sold it) and one with the V10, which he still has.

Not saying the V10 is too heavy, just wondering if the V10 was offered in the 1/2 PU trucks, or only 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.

The V10 was only in the Super Duty trucks and Excursions. My dad has one. Has a lot of torque, but we've had spark plug issues, I put a power steering pump on, new coils, and alternator needed rebuilt a couple summers ago. Truck has about 75-80K on it.

The v-10 was never put on any 1/2 ton frames but the Expy is.
