Hi All,
Has anyone replaced their GPS Antenna on a 3rd gen? I just got my new one in the mail today and am having 0 luck trying to find anything about removing and replacing it. ie. what needs to come down, how to remove the old one etc...
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you

I believe it's mounted with a clip under the dash on a support above the radio. Pull out the radio and you should find it up there. You can follow the wire from the back of the radio.

Let us know how it goes. I have a 2016 and the Sirius cuts out every time we go past cel towers. My VIN isn’t included in the TSB.

Well I got the new gps antenna installed today. Not a bad job at all.
Remove the right A pillar trim.
Remove the right sun visor and both mounts.
Pull the trim from around the right A pillar area as well as the sunroof trim.
This allows you to be able to drop the headliner enough to get your hand in and remove the bolt under the antenna.
Unplug the antenna wire and wire keeper.
Install the reverse way.
Easy as that.
In all it took me about 45 mins.

What you changed on the roof is the Sirius radio antenna, not the GPS antenna.

The GPS antenna is under the dash on the support atop the radio.

Sorry to burst your bubble Trainmaster :)
This particular radio (factory) uses the same antenna for both. The antenna connects to a splitter cable and then plugs into the head unit twice. One for the radio and one for the maps/gps.

no disrespect intended sir

Haha, Oldtimer! I learned something new. What'll they think of next? Thank you.

Good for you. I'm glad that roof thing was so easy on you and the headliner.

@1oldtimer which year do you have and where did you order the antenna?
Did this solve your Sirius cutout problems?
I ordered from Tasca and it definitely took care of the SiriusXM cutouts.
Oh yea and I have a 2013.
Great customer service as well.
