Hi all. I’m curious what king of fuel mileage you are getting with your Expeditions that are equipped with the heavy duty tow package 3.73 rear end ratio. My 2 month old 2020 Platinum with just under 2k miles is only getting 14.6 MPG with mostly highway driving. I’ve been driving it softly without aggressive starts or high speeds to see if it gets better. Last month the check engine light game on and dealer replaced the O2 sensor. I figured that would have corrected the issue immediately since the sensor controls air/fuel ratio but did not see any improvement.
What kind of mileage are you guys getting with the 3.73?

I've seen 19-20 mpg purely highway at interstate speeds, but we usually get 17-18 mixed and it's been around 15 in town this winter.
I’m seeing the same on mine (Platinum Max 4x4 with HD Tow).

The biggest impact on fuel economy seems to be transmission temperature. We average about 12mpg (when not towing), but our drives are almost all less than 4 miles. I’ve noticed that there’s a big uptick in fuel economy (from the fuel history screen) that seems to occur when the transmission reaches its normal operating temperature. But on short drives, we spend very few miles operating in that more fuel efficient temperature band. So our average fuel economy suffers.

Yup, I agree.......17-18 around town. Highway can get up to 22 or so. When we moved, my wife followed the big yellow rental truck for 2100 miles at 65 and got a surprising 24-25 mpg.

How you drive (how heavy is your foot) is the greatest impact on mpg.

I do not exceed 5mph over the speed limit on the highway. Around town, I take my time and don't push it. However, there is a lot of stop and go traffic.

That said, I usually get 9-12 around town and 20-23 highway. Towing has been around 14 highway/mixed with pulling into campsites, etc.

Same here. 15-17 around town, highways I've done up to about 23 depending upon conditions. I will say it seems like it dropped a little when using the adaptive cruise, but maybe only about .5mpg.

My last vehicle was about 1000lbs lighter and had a huge tuned V8, on that one i was doing about 11.5-12 around town, so I'd consider this a win for sure!

The lifetime average on mine is 19.4 and that's mostly short trips to work and some longer trips of course all averaged in. 3.73's 4x4 Max
