Never had a problem with a Motorcraft part, and of the ones I order the vast majority have come from USA, Canada or Germany. Only had perhaps 5% come from China.

On the other hand, perhaps half of the Chinese garbage I buy in auto part stores goes back because it doesn't fit, is obviously unusable or simply fails in a week. The parts stores around here simply carry the cheapest stuff they can find...

Why would a company that has no qualms building the whole car in China all of a sudden get an epiphany and make their OEM parts in the US?

Well you certainly have a point. Hopefully they inspect and regulate the quality of the stuff they make there. I've been burned over and over by Chinese parts, which caused my passion against the stuff. I really don't want to do a job twice or have to hack up a new part that doesn't fit right when part cost is not even a consideration at my point in life. I'll pass on the $12 heater core.

I do the best I can to avoid failure of new parts and to support my brothers and their families in the USA.

I’ve had PowerStops professionally installed.

They were grrreat! For 25,000 miles. Then the whole damn truck shook like a motel bed.

Nothing but OE since. I don’t like their fade but I do like the pedal feel. OE doesn’t bite like higher quality ceramic but they are consistent.

If I still have my truck next time I’ll buy great ceramic pads w OE rotors.

Drilled and slotted are for track use. An Expedition comes nowhere near the use for slots and or drilled.
