I noticed that the connector hose for the PCV valve is cracked on my 2003 Ford Expy XLT 5.4L. So am ordering a replacement that comes with the PCV valve.

Just checking to see if anyone has replaced theirs recently and have any suggestions for things to look out for?

My replacement for the same should be here tomorrow, also a 2003 Expy EB.Wish I could find the hoses from evap cannister to intake, as well as valve cover to intake.
Trying to deal with hunting idle...I know PCV is leaking - other side is prevention.

Got mine, going in first in the AM.
Advance had OEM for $81, shipped. Because of course, none in stock locally. After their 15% online discount and a $10 "perks" discount, right around $56.
That dog will hunt, now, hopefully my idle won't.

Let me know if there's anything tricky in taking out the old or putting in the new. It looks simple and straight-forward, but then again, that what I usually think !

On my '04, PCV didn't want to come out easy & needed a little persuasion. I did the same and got the assembly (tho different) from rockauto.com
Like Hamfisted said, check other vacuum lines also while you are there. I do not have smoke tester yet also.

So - a little "fidgety". You will need to reach behind the intake to remove the large bore hose from the throttle body as well as the smaller hose from the fuel line. the connection to the heated intake port for the gasses also will have a hose clamp on it.
Once I removed the hose clamps and straightened out the spaghetti, it came out easily - and better news is the new one took 1/10 of the time to install.
On the down side, it did not completely eliminate my "hunting" issue - but smoke tester is supposed to arrive today - so, Than you Hamfisted. I am dreading actually figuring out the issue because now I suspect that the intake manifold is where the leak is. As I have only had it off ~30 times, I don't know WHY it would leak...when I took it off last time, I installed plug inserts, changed plugs, coils, injectors and manifold gasket, new thermostat - and when I started it after that, blamo - hunting, racing and stalling.

$hit - all that to say - its a pretty easy install, just don't yank. be methodical removing it and you'll be fine. If you yank, something else is breaking...I promise.
