Does it turn your pants brown?

Only had blue jeans on and only after at least 24 hours. Didn’t see any sign of the color on them. I forgot the cure time it says on the box, 4 hours maybe. But I’d wait at least one full day. It’s a permanent color, but I’m assuming I’ll see some of the scuffs reappear within six months. Never used it before. If it does wear off in less than a year, then it will be relegated to a pre trade in treatment.
I did the smaller 3rd row seat yesterday. The other 2nd row bucket I cleaned today, but the temp dropped so I’m waiting until tomorrow to color it and reinstall. It looks just like the King Ranch color out in sunlight, but under my garage LED lights, it looks butterscotch. It is the correct color in natural light. They make this tan and a darker brown also, as well as black too.

Looks great. You did a fantastic job on the carpet. Having owned a detail shop in the past I've seen quite a few other pros not do that good.

I've taken the carpet out of 2 cars to get those results. Not a fun experience but the results are stunning to say the least. Definitely beats the cost of new carpet or a DIY replacement that isn't as nice.

Thank you all for the compliments. It’s been very hard work for me. I probably would open a detail shop if I was physically able to do this everyday. I’ve done this to my truck over a months time. All the seats are back in it. I haven’t leather balmed the drivers seat yet. I ran out and need to order another jar.

I’ve been thinking about protecting the carpet and how I’ve never been satisfied by any factory floor mats in the past. I picked up Navigator front & 2nd row from a junk yard. The fronts fit perfect, or I thought they did until I tried to put the front passenger seat bolt cover back on and realized that makes the floor mat no longer fit, lol. I’m thinking of getting a roll of that black automarine carpet from Menard’s and making my own custom floor mats. Put a thick padded backing so they don’t curl up. The 2nd row mat one piece that wraps between and around the outer sides of the buckets to cover where people step to get into the 3rd row, where the factory never seems to care about covering with a mat. Just a thought I might play with in the future. I can not afford weather tech or husky and I don’t like the way they curl up and look like thin plastic.
Looks like the previous owner had a tube of blue RTV Silicone bust on the jack cover panel. I may be re carpeting it.

The white hazy area near top center was another spot I got mostly out with GooGone. But it still looks bad. The big area by the handle is just to much damage to save.

Shouldn't be too hard to find that jack cover panel in a yard somewhere.

Navigator has the same floor so no surprise the mats fit. Depending on how fancy you want them check out Lloyd's mats. I'm planning to order a nice thick 48oz set in black for my wife's navigator. They're nicer than what you'd find in most luxury sedans and there are several options for logos, monograms, etc.

I actually grabbed the jack cover out of the same Navigator, but it’s slightly shaped different. I pulled the white door mirror covers off it too but they were taller mirrors than my 08 Expedition. So I’m guess even though the interior looked like mine, it was the 2nd Gen Expedition equivalent?
It has the second row jump seat in black leather I’d really like to get. It was so cold that day I couldn’t break the seat bolts free with a standard ratchet wrench.

I'm pretty sure cargo area of the 2nd and 3rd gen are slightly different. It's identical between our expedition and navigator but they are the same year.

My wife would kill for that jump seat on certain days. We have the 2nd row console and every now and again she wishes she had the seat

Made it back to Menards today to buy some of that black Automarine carpet. First the guy tells me they are sold out, but then he checks the remnant bin and pulls out a 6x3.5’ roll for $7. Well praise the Lord that’s about how much I wanted to recover the Expedition jack compartment lid. Then I see 6x8’ rolls for $14 of what looks the same but is not as stiff backed and I think it’s perfect if I decide to redo the rear seat back carpets. Because once the rear cargo floor is redone it’s going to make the seat backs look faded.

So this is my Menards home improvement store purchase. I haven’t found this type of Automarine carpet anywhere else local and only for hundreds of dollars at online auto upholstery websites. It perfectly matches the passenger floor carpet of my 2008 Expedition. I’m thinking about making custom rubber backed floor mats that full coverage the whole rear passenger area floor.

Compaired to the front passenger original 2008 carpet.

The drivers front door and rear door map pockets aren’t coming back good as new clean, so I’m thinking about lining the door pockets with this too, what do you think?

I would line those pockets in the door anyway, cut down on potential rattles when things are in there plus it looks like it could be factory.

This is a lot harder than I expected.

But a whole lot cheaper than buying this!
