Thinking it's time to replace the '11 Exped this summer. Needs new all-season tires, though. Don't want to spend the money but I need something. I don't think you necessarily get your money out of having new tires when you sell it in this condition. Probably better to have like-new tires on it... maybe not.

It's got some bubbling paint on the back door (rust), the leather seats (front) are about to tear. It shows it's age.

Q1: If you were me, would you go with a cheap set of tires and sell it?

Q2. What do you think of Nexen tires?

My local tire guy can get me a set of these tires installed (price for four)

Nexen 624
Uniroyal 752
Continental 824 (Terrain Contact?)
Bridgestone 812 (Alenza?)

Use it as a selling point. Tell them you are going to buy cheap new tires to put on but you can just take it off the price instead.
As long as the old tires aren't showing threads and totally bald.
Just clean the old girl up and put a sign in the window.

I'd see if Cooper or Generals are much more. They are an inexpensive, domestic tire that doesn't scream out "Chinese junk". But that's just me. Maybe most people won't know the difference.

As Yupster says, it is a selling point and says a lot about how you cared for your truck. It will certainly sell faster, thought not sure you'll get your $700 back.

Hey guys, sorry I didn't respond sooner. Decided the tires were bad enough to be dangerous. Won't sell until summer and if we don't sell it as quick as we'd like... We have a big trip planned this summer.

Appreciate the feedback.
