I'm considering the ICON stage 1 or 2 system. Max tire size is 33" with no cutting or bending.

Are there any recommendations for the best wheel and 33" tire size combination?

The goal is to improve over-landing performance for up to medium difficulty trails. (no rock crawling planned).

Thanks in advance.

are you sure about that 33" max? I got 33.8 on my 2nd gen with no mods at all- it put my 04's ground clearance up to 10".

FWIW, it's an SSV (police package) but I don't think that had any lift on it.

Hey, I'm looking at an SSV to purchase right now. Picking it up Friday. I was going to do a lift to clear bigger tires but was wondering what the max tire size I can put on without the lift. The wheels on it right now are 18" and I was thinking of running 275/70/18 which is just a hair over 33". Do you think it would fit w/o rubbing? It's a 2015 EL SSV (long wheelbase)

Sorry I hope I'm not hijacking this - just was a question :) Didn't know they may in fact fit lol

Well, as i said, my 04 SSV fit 275/70/17s; they measure 33.8” tall.

Hey, not to completely challenge you on that... But 275 is a measure of mm width of the tire. 70 is the aspect ratio (70% of the width, x2 for top and bottom), and 17" rim, so in other words, 275/70/17 is nowhere near 33.8", it's roughly 32" for most tire manufacturers - 32.07" to be exact. Are you sure they are 275's? It would seem you either have typed the wrong size, or your measurement must be off - because the math doesn't seem to add up??
