Hi all,
I just picked up a used 2018 Expedition Max Limited. We are really enjoying this vehicle so far and I've been poking around on this forum for the last few weeks. I could use some help identifying and locating a missing interior piece.
On the back of the 3rd row seats, there is a hinged cover that covers the seat folding motor mechanism when the seat is folded down. There is one on the back of each seat. Some how, the left one got tore off and the mounting holes on the remaining bracket are damaged as well. The dealer claims this cannot be purchased alone and it comes in a sort of "rear compartment kit" with all sorts of parts and which costs nearly $700. They must be on crack!
The diagram they showed me doesn't even clearly depict the cover I am looking for (see attached). Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where I might be able to find this part online?

Unfortunately the dealer might be correct. I understand that you only want to purchase one part of something that is sold in a kit. Buying that part new, might not be a possibility.

However, sites like Ebay are going to be your best bet. or something like a wrecked car lot online website might have what you are looking for. I don't have any examples to give you.

car-part.com will let you search junk yard/recyclers' inventories, for those that catalog parts anyway. Otherwise a trip to a u-pull it might work.

If I understand the part in question correctly … on my 2014EL that's part of the floor not attached to the seat. Its permanent plastic rivet molded to the floor storage compartment. I can see (on mine) that its not easy to pull off without drilling out the rivets. YMMV

Can you make something? Mine is a simple flat piece riveted in place, does have a spring but seems easy to fabricate something.

Thanks for the comments and web site suggestions so far guys. MrSticker - yes, you describe it much like I see it on my 2018 model. If I had the flappy top piece and it looked half-way decent, I would find a way to attach it to the bracket beneath. JB Weld if need be, I'll get that sucker to stay put.

Hey everyone, My name is Mike I am from VA. I have a 2020 Max Limited that I recently purchased. This is my first expedition that I have ever had so, no longer a virgin, haha. Anyways, I have the same problem with the covers for my 3rd row seats. I can tell that who ever owned the car before me just ripped the plastic rivets right out of the holes. The only pieces I have been able to find are all one piece covers that go all the way across the seat but my seat is spilt 60/40 I believe. Anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement?
Im okay with getting the whole replacement piece but I cant find the part number or anything so any help is appreciated. I did attach some pics that I took may help to see what I am looking at.

TIA!

Ours was missing this when we bought it CPO. The dealer replaced it. Then a few months later, we were pushing something heavy into the back to haul...and ripped it out again. Sigh.

Yea, I have looked on the "dealer" sites to see if I can locate a part number or anything that would tell me how to order it. I am trying to get the dealer to replace it since I just recently bought the vehicle. But, I have already signed the papers so we all know how that goes.

Mine was broken off also and I used 2 sheet metal screws and screwed it on. Put some liquid electrical tape on the screw heads so they wouldn’t scratch anything.
