man that's silly... Definitely hope yours is under warranty, otherwise here's a $1k plastic housing with $10 (if that) worth of LED's that can last a few years... I know LED this and that is the rage, but I'm starting to wish we could go back to user replaceable incandescent, or at least user replaceable LED, that is if the quality is this low.

Frankly, its kinda like the LED bulbs for your house. They say they save you $200 in electricity over their life, which is how we make it viable to spend 10x vs. an incandescent but I don't know about you guys, but I write service dates on LED bulbs. They usually still die within a year, not the 5yrs the payback talks about.

You just gave me another thing to pay close attention to :)
My biggest issue with LED's in the automotive world is the lack of heat that comes from them. In cold climates, the bulbs do not melt the ice and snow. Therefore, imo causing a potential hazard by covering up the lenses. I'm not knocking the look and the light output during normal usage. I think the clean fresh light look is fantastic.

Yeah, I've noticed that up here too. When it's really bad out and we're on a road trip, we have to stop every 30 minutes or so to scrape the ice off the headlights.

I'm with you on dating household LED bulbs. I put one in a lamp and it lasted 9 days.
I bought my 2017 new and have all incandescent bulbs. I even removed the LED fog lights and hung some Hella fogs under the front bumper.

Hope that warranty covered the costs in this case. I got the same car a month ago and hope that I will not get the same issue in a month or two. If they cover the costs, I will change the whole part with the harness. I planned to change these LEDs to something better but not so soon. If I see it is broken, I will go for my favorite RGB multicolored LED light bulbs. They are much more fun than the regular ones, and you can make them shine in any color you would like to see. It sounds insane but looks extremely cool on the road. My friend has lights like that, and the car looks sick.

If you're past your BTB warranty, and even if you bought a Ford ESP warranty, they required an additional (upfront) charge in order to cover LED lighting. Without that rider, and ESP purchaser would be on their own coverage-wise.
