I have a 2017 Ford Expedition Limited with 26,000 miles. The other day I was pulling into a parking lot and the Expedition just slowed down and the engine revved. I coasted into the nearest parking place and shut her down. I went to restart and the brake pedal was rock hard and it would not turn over. It gave me both the check engine light and the wrench symbols. Pulled out the manual and found that it was the transmission. I almost called me a tow truck but she restarted after trying 3 times. I drove slowly to the dealership. They did the diagnostic check and it was not the engine but the transmission. They told me it was a module / sensor problem and they will have to drop the transmission to repair. I checked for recalls for this but could not find any. Have any of you guys heard of this problem before? It's still under warranty. Thanks.

Well, take comfort in the fact that they can at least identify the problem. We all hear the stories of service departments throwing parts at a problem hoping it fixes it. Good luck with the repair!

They called this morning. Part is in and they are starting the repairs this morning. Should have it back by Monday at the latest.

I am having the exact same problem that you described in the OP.
Did the module/sensor replacement resolve your issues?
Yesterday I got stuck at a stop light because the transmission slipped into neutral. When it re-engaged in D, I pulled into a parking spot and shut the engine off, thinking it might reset the computer, but the engine wouldn’t turn over and start until the third or fourth attempt. Taking it to a transmission shop tomorrow.

What sensor did they replace that required dropping the whole transmission out?
