OK so I am not exactly sure what the issue is. From what I know and what everybody I've spoke too, it's (well it should be) the alternator. I assumed it would be the alternator although I've got my alternative bench tested And it is perfectly fine. I've also replaced my alternator cause I was so sure that was it. But nothing changed. When sitting at an idle, it just constantly flickers the dash lights the headlights while in park or drive.. Almost a pulse like flicker. And the pulsing speeds up as the rpms get higher but the flickering gets more dramatic at lower rpms or idle. It starts and drives every time without hesitation and it's never a slow crank. I just don't how to get rid of it cause I'm not sure what's causing it. honestly it really makes me believe I'm just gonna be driving one night and all of a sudden., boom I have no lights going 70. Any info helps. I haven't found much of anything on a similar subject and I've been searching for HOURS TRYING TO FIND ANYTHING!

Where did you get the alternator? If your Expy didn't come with factory navigation, make sure you are using the 110 amp alternator, not the 130 amp one. Also check your chassis ground cable to battery is in good shape and not a bunch of corrosion on it. If you installed an alternator from Advance Auto, remove it and throw it in the nearest canal. Use NAPA or order a Motorcraft one from Rock Auto.

I got mine at oh riellys. It's made by ULTIMA. Yeah I had factory navigation and air bag suspension. Is there a way to run some thicker gauge wire to the battery/alternator/starter and grounds? I mean how would you do that with this little spliced cord that goes to the connector?

Has it done this flickering since you've had it ? Try cleaning up the grounds, especially from the negative post of the battery to the chassis. You might even try running a fat jumper cable from the negative post to the chassis and see if that changes anything. Not sure how your wiring is there from the pic. Maybe you can find another Gen2 to look at to make sure yours is correct.

Well it was wired like that when I got it I was actually wondering if there was a way to bypass the fuseable link that goes directly to the alternator. I just soldered on some end caps onto some Amp wire. I'm gonna make a second ground with it then see if that works. I'll get back to you with the update when I'm done.

Well if you do end up building your own cable, just use a Megafuse rated slightly above the alternator's output rating so you'll have some line protection and no fire hazards. But hopefully you'll find a fix with a good ground cable. Make sure that the alternator you installed is in fact a 130 amp alternator if that is what your Expy is supposed to have (factory Navigation...), and not the much more common 110 amp normal duty alternator that most of the brick stores carry.
