I'm looking to replace my factory Hankooks on the OEM 22" wheels and am between the Michelin Premier LTX DT vs Defender LTX M/S tires. From what I understand, these are both recently updated tire versions. I drive mostly highway in Texas with the occasional road trip somewhere around the US. Does anyone have any preference for one over the other? Also, does anyone have any pictures of these tires installed? I'm worried the Defender may be a bit too aggressive looking? Thanks in advance

I just installed the Defender LTX M/S2 (very close to what you're looking at) and posted pics a few threads away from this one.

I just saw it. Great looking wheels! Did you consider the Premier LTX DT at any point?

Ran this series for 20+ years, best all around tire, and lowest cost per mile driven, Defender LTX M/S tires. I've always experienced improved handling wet or dry and less road noise. Back in the 16" days, they had 3 steel belts making them almost flat proof.

Are you running these Defender LTX on your Expedition now?

No, not yet. I've only had it 2 weeks, only 1500 miles. It came with the Hancook version. I'll get the Michelins when these are done.

Thank you. The Premier didn't show up in my search because it doesn't look like they make it in the 275/55/20 size I wanted.

It looks like a nice tire too though and would have considered it.

Defender LXT M/S are great all around. If you search by vehicle on Michelin or Tire Rack the premier doesn’t show up likely due to size and load rating. I had the stock size Defender and now the 33in size with the 3/2 readylift.
