We are shopping for a new Exp XLT. We’re not finding that the local dealers are willing to move much off their Internet prices.

What discounts and reductions should we be requesting, or extras (Such as rubber floor mats, etc.) should be the requesting?

any recent new expedition buyers have any experience to share regarding their recent dealer negotiations?

I bought last fall and was able to get close to invoice off my Limited Max, plus thousands in rebates; my experience won't match yours now.

You know about all the shortages and used market prices right? This is just a consequence of all that going on. You can check ford.com for current rebates, make sure you get those IN ADDITION to whatever you negotiate off of MSRP - those rebates are paid back to the dealer, discount off MSRP is not. I shop on the Ford site and repeatedly get personal rebates worth up to $2500, but your time frame might not allow waiting for that. If you can get anywhere near invoice price, that's probably a really good deal right now. Do you have access to X plan pricing?

The market sucks right now for a buyer. You won't find much if any discounts.
I got $16K off mine when I bought it....

Only advice I can give is don't sign your name on a mobile phone or tablet. Dealer messed with me here in Georgia (stay away from Legacy Ford in McDonough). Point is you're signing a legal document which you can't see. Ask for everything in print or you won't sign!

With the shortage I could have made money last week. My wife dropped of her Aviator for service and they offered her 5k less than we bought if for. It’s one year old with 25k miles. Told her to look at their inventory before they took her home. She said they didn’t have much. I dropped her off and wanted to look at the new F-150 and they didn’t have anything but single cab STX’s and rangers. Two salesmen came out and I was like I need to get out of here. They wanted me to sell my Expy to them. I said I would trade it in for a Gen5 when they come out. But other than that I wasn’t interested. My last oil change they had a guy wanting to buy it. They had one new Expy and one new Navigator. Not one new Superduty on the lot. It was crazy. They have moved a bunch of used cars and truck to the lot because that’s all they have. Other than 3 girl bronco’s. Who knows if we will ever see the man bronco at this rate.

The market for cars and RV's is very tight right now. We bought new Expy & RV in January and glad that we did it then.

Watched The Homework Guy on YouTube to learn tricks dealers use to sell cars.

I especially liked learning about Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC"). They claim they need your SS number to verify you are not a terrorist. Like a foreign terrorist would have a SSN. They really want to run a credit check on you. I ran my own OFAC query and gave it to them!
