So question— the heater hoses. Is that some sort of disconnect where the rubber hoses meet the aluminum lines? If I could remove those hoses it would be ALOT easier to fix valve cover when I get back

Yes. Those quick connects are all the rage now at Ford and Chrysler. There's a tool of course, but basically you squeeze in on the white plastic clips and push the hose TOWARD the pipe, then pull it off while still squeezing the white clips. It's another Rube Goldberg design. Don't lose the two O-rings and the little white nylon collar on each one. The bright side is they snap back on real easy.

I use the 5/8" end of this tool....

The pipeline is up and running again. There really was no fuel shortage, at least here in Florida, until everyone and their brother decided to fill up at once and in some cases horde fuel.

This usually happens when people don't know the difference between inch pounds and foot pounds torque.
Common sense often times is absent when valve cover bolts get snapped off. Rule one is if you can't loosen the bolt with ease leave it alone and take it to a real mechanic who knows from years of experience
how to remove and install valve cover bolts. I once watched some dope snap every bolt off because he used a torque wrench set a 60 ft. lbs. Personally I use a 1/4" drive ratchet and tighten by feel.

Hope they also stocked up on STA-BIL or there are going to be a lot of fuel systems issues popping up in a few months :)

I hate to say it but the fewer bolts with the bolt retainers in the later ones is a better design and breaking one in any case is a rookie move but we all have to learn as we go.

No issues getting gas made it to Florida, F-350 was THIRSTY lol
Glad you made it ok but it really sucks you had to take a stage coach when you have such a great comfy highway machine sitting home. After owning and driving my Expy on long trips, I can honestly say I’ll never take a trip in some small or uncomfortable vehicle ever again. Call me spoiled,I don’t care! I’ve been there and done that traveling in the wife’s old Escape and my old regular cab F 250 4x4....... not anymore! I ain’t gotta live like that! Lol!

Can you get the hose with all the extras on it? I’m going to have to slice these hoses off with my big cable cutters removal tool won’t work. I can find the one with the T but I will need to buy both hose assemblies.
