We have a 2015 Limited. Heavy duty tow package 20" tires. We are looking at a Keystone Passport 258rks. Length 29' 11", hitch weight 650, dry 5509. Will our Expedition tow this? 2 adults, 6 cats. No water, no wood, food purchased at destination. Thank you for your replies.

Stay away from big rigs and winds...Search the internet for TV wheelbase/TT length charts...A proper TV for that trailer would be at least a 3/4 T truck IMHO...

That seems well within reason to tow, I don't think the length will be an issue and it's not excessively heavy. just use a WD hitch, set it up properly and get the right pitch/weight distributed and monitor your tire pressures.

Agree with the WD hitch. Be sure to do a few short practice trips to get familiar and comfortable driving with the setup - before going on a big trip. Good luck!

I'll get shot down by the towing police for this, but for reference we towed a 33' bumper pull that was around 9k loaded (10 k rated) along with five kids. Did it for tens of thousands of miles with an 09 Expy (5.4 triton) and a couple times with a 15 (3.5 EB). The 09 handled it well and going 65 was no problem even in west Texas winds (25 was my limit on winds). In fact keeping my foot out of it was the biggest issue. Sold the trailer before we pulled it too much with the Ecoboost but the few times I did it was even better. Technically we were about 1500-2000# over gross per the CAT scales but the vehicle could physically do it. Good WDH and good brake controller makes all the difference in the world. Keep an eye on the tranny temps and make sure it's not shifting too often and driving the temps up is my only other recommendation.

Thank you to everyone who replied. You reinforced my thoughts that the Expedition could tow this. I had a 2013 F150 with heavy duty payload and max towing. We towed a 33' 11" Lacrosse to Tennessee and back (from Michigan) with no problem. Why do most people push the 3/4 ton truck thing? I do not want, cannot afford, and do not have a place to park one. I wanted an SUV so the cats could ride in the back and I wouldn't have to worry about them. Thank you again. We are going to purchase the Bullet next year, and I am going to go to towing class.
We have two WDH's. One we bought to tow an Avenger, the ball says 10,000, and the other was bought to tow the Lacrosse, ball says 14,000. Which one should we use for the Bullet?

A 10,000lb WDH would do just fine for that load. As others have said, get the WDH dialed in. Tires aired up and be mindful of your tongue weight when loaded for a trip. Best thing I ever did was finally take my set up to a CAT scale and learn how to use it and use those numbers to really dial in everything.

Unless your cats are tigers your Expy is suited just fine for that load. It'll just take some time to get it dialed in.

Our 2014 Expy with tow package is rated to tow up to 9200 lbs. Would we ever tow that much? No. We do, however, very comfortably tow a 3500 lb trailer. A 5500 lb trailer would be very doable. We also use a WDH that has antisway built in.

I think people push 3/4 ton because they've never actually visited a scale. So when they have issues, the immediate fix is a bigger truck. Use the 10K hitch. The 14K might make it too easy to push weight to the front axle.
