Theres a reason there is like a 40 page thread on here only discussing rear sway bars and the endless bobble-head motion that these things produce.
Again, I LOVE my expedition, and I'll have it forever, but the rear suspension still pi$$es me off.
Well I'm certainly glad my Nav doesn't do that. The engine and ride quality is what sold us on switching after 5 Escalades (not to mention the fantastic interior).

So my wife was just DONE with the famous 2018 Navigator Black Label L 4x4 Cam phaser eater. Its been good since the engine replacement, but it just rides like a fricken dump truck. It bucks all over the road on sharp bumps on the interstate because the rear springs are just stupid-stiff. It axle hops both tires off the road on the sharp bumps and NONE of the struts are leaking or malfunctioning. The Black Labels are just this stiff.

She traded it for a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L with a Hemi in it. It has air shocks on it and it absolutely blows the Navigator away on ride comfort. Literally like 10X smoother and no more "bobble heading" from the ancient rear suspension design on these Fords.
The interior uses all quilted leather and it makes the interior on that Navigator look silly. I'm not saying either is any better, but I'm saying this is a pretty impressive offering from Jeep. I've NEVER owned a Jeep and never wanted a Jeep, but she had me test drive a pile of Mid sized SUV's before we bought anything because she Hated the rough ride and the bobble-head rear suspension so badly on that Navigator. I know this is a smaller vehicle, but we were just done dumping $100K into any vehicle, its just getting ridiculous.

These with Hemi's were literally impossible to find, so she found it in Oklahoma and had It shipped to us in Northern, WI. lol. The dealer we bought the Navigator from is buying it back for about what we paid for it a year or so ago, so we came out fine on that minus the fact that it was broke down 90% of the time.

Here's a couple pics from Yesterday when it arrived. BTW I have both front and rear sway bars for this thing new in the box ready to ship.... weather tech full mats in brown, auto start stop delete.....
Love it @Deadman, I've had five GC's over the years and my last one (WK2) was by far the best to drive. Not as capable off road as say a ZJ, but still insanely nice. Loved the Hemi. My biggest fear is FCA's impact on quality. Just like Daimler did some good and some really bad things for these over the years. Hope it's does well for you guys! But what are you going to do for service now, without the sales guy stopping by to pick it up, lol!

They took FOREVER releasing it, still not even sure if its officially out in the long version.....
I like the 392 in it, but again like you say, the price tag is just getting absolutely stupid.

I just bought a lot with a 32X40 pole shed on it with cement floor and a blacktop driveway, and I paid 1/5 of the price of a new wagoner and I can store all my crap In this, or rent space out for $500/month or more. Beyond stupid to sink all the coin in these electronic junkers. :).

The Ecoboost has more grunt for sure, but the Hemi is fun in this jeep. I can't even imagine it with their V6 making 290 wimpy HP and barely any torque, it would be a turd.

The magic with the V6 is the transmission it is attached to. The engine is nothing special but the transmission makes it not bad. Obviously, no where near the level of the Hemi. The current v6 and transmission combo is still worlds ahead of the previous v6 option, that was absolutely a turd. It really is amazing how much the transmission has transformed their whole line up. I could be wrong but I think it is the same transmission behind the Hemi too. (Have been a little disconnected from the Jeep world the last couple years.)

From what I've read the V6 gets the weaker trans and the Hemi gets the heavier trans from the trucks.

Make sure to use a quality oil in that Hemi. I came from a Ram 2500 and never had the issue a lot on another forum had but used Redline from new and changed it out early first change then 6500-7500 miles and never got the famous hemi tick. Keep us updated as the interior on those is amazing just like the look of the expedition exterior more or I would probably be looking for a hemi as well lol.

Excellent choice. I had a 2011 Grand Cherokee Summit with the Hemi and it was a PHENOMENAL vehicle. My parents still own it to this day. Air suspension failed on it at 94K miles otherwise it’s been flawless. Lifetime warranty paid for that repair too so it was only $100 deductible. As nice as my 2011 Summit was the new ones are opulent and make the 11 look like a turd by comparison. Mine had similar interior colors, saddle tan and black wood. Love that combo.

We are looking to get an Aviator for the wife or a Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. I want the Jeep, she wants the Lincoln…

It's my understanding that a 2021 Jeep is a Fiat. Good luck with that.
Fix It Again Tony.

My 2004 EB Expedition is one of the most comfortable of all the vehicles I have ever experienced. It's common for guest passengers to comment the same. So it's not just me.

The EB trim is my favorite for its appearance and utility. My friend with a Lexis thinks I'm nuts. I had a 94 EB Explorer and still loved it when I sold it after getting the Expedition.

But then I'm even smitten with the fact that Ford 12 volt power points are live with the ignition turned off.

The new grand wagoneer is the only full size SUV that I think compares in luxury, power, 4x4, and towing to expedition. It's a major achievement for jeep. However, the only size choice still has small wheelbase. Fords supposed to do major revamp on expedition around 2024-2026. Minor revamp for new model year being announced next week? Ford has to step up.

The Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer look like they get hit with the ugly stick. The interiors are nice but the exterior styling is horrible. Ford and GM don't have anything to worry about.
