Has anyone had the ticking turbo/wastegate actuator replaced under warranty?

Took the truck in today for the cam phaser PCM reprogramming and brought up the ticking turbos (I first brought it up 10k miles ago when they replaced the cam phasers, but they wanted to fix the phasers first) and they are now telling me that the noise is harmless, but will have the head service guy drive it tomorrow morning and listen for it. I know there are threads on this board that discuss the issue, but I don't know if anyone was successful in getting the dealer to replace the turbos. I've seen the FTM video, and told my advisor about it. What are some keywords that I need to say for them to take this serious? Other than, "I have the 8 year, 150k mile warranty so it's going to get replaced sooner or later!".

Mine goes in today for this turbo replacement.
How much back and forth did you have to do with the dealer? I had mine in last week and they gave me the "Ford says it's normal" canned response. I found a TSB for 2017 F-150's that showed a "fix" for the rattle, but it's weird that it was only for that model year.

Hopefully this isn't the same case, but look at post #41 in this thread. This guy got his replaced and the rattle came back.

NONE. I took it in for oil change, they agreed it rattled and they ordered the turbo and parts and scheduled it for the following week so they had the parts on hand.

The dealer replaced mine back when I did the cam phasers too with no issue. That was as 35k or so and now at 58k the turbo rattle has been back for a little while.

It’s just the linkage for the wastegate actuator. If someone can figure out a way to tighten up the slack in the linkage it would solve the problem. Needs some sort of shim or something that won’t melt with the heat.

There's this, but why wouldn't they do this for all models/model years with the 3.5?

Issue: Some 2017 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle type noise from the
engine compartment under various operating conditions. This noise may be due to excessive play in the
turbocharger wastegate linkage. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install the wastegate
linkage spring kit.

There's some other ghetto rigged solutions that can be found searching for "turbo wastegate rattle fix"

I took my vehicle in last week and showed them the rattle while in for an oil change. They agreed it wasn’t the rod and internal of the wastegates but that they had to submit request to Ford for replacement authorization. Vehicle just turned 70k and is a Ford Gold Certified car. It’s been almost a week and they say there still waiting on Ford. I can’t believe this would take so long.

Feel free to search for some of my posts. Had nearly 9 month battle with Ford over this. Mine started the turbo ticking for both turbos at around 6k miles. took me 9 months of fighting to finally get both replaced. to be clear, they also did try the f150 tsb to replace the actuators but it has nothing to do with the actuators, its the actual gates/springs inside the turbo. Pretty major service, took 2-3 days but yes, the rattle went away. I'm now at 25k miles and every now and then I still hear them, as though they will eventually come back again entirely. it's just part of the design I suspect. Too bad, I've had turbo's before and something like a wastegate was really never an issue.

Please do search for my posts, maybe it will provide you with some ammo.

I started a post asking this same thing a few months back...

I still did not get mine replaced after having it in twice for cam phasers. They just blew me off and I am pissed off. I am going to video it and talk to someone above my rep who seemed to not give a shit.
