My Sirius is working but not the phone or Sync (2016 XLT). I took it to the dealer yesterday and they told me I would need a new APIM module for the wonderful price of $1000. I'm not sure if I can get it done somewhere else for a lot less money but i can buy a handsfree unit for $35. Has anyone had any experience with replacing an APIM module? The radio and radio controls work fine.
I had this post in another area and was asked to move it.

The new member section is to get to know the member who started the thread.
Also starting a new thread is better for getting results rather than tacking on to the end of a old thread.

I hope someone can help you with this problem.

My APIM has finally arrived at the dealership. I’m taking it in Tuesday morning for it to be replaced under warranty. It has been ordered since July because of the chip shortage. Mine is a 2017 XLT. Not sure you can find one anywhere in stock because they have been on back order and when one comes in they are already spoken for.

Must be different models for different years that is the problem. I've had 2 installed in mine in the past 3 months. I believe they were shipped out of a company in NY

Wow…. I hope I don’t have to take mine in anytime soon again for the same issue cause that would just suck! It sounds like we are dealing with inferior parts if that’s the case.

My 2017 has the same problem and I only care about making handsfree phone call so I'm looking at a visor mounted handsfree bluetooth speaker like this one it's under $40.

This is one of the problems with modern cars...TOO much electronics that interface with more electronics. No way would I pay $500-1000 just to make phone calls.

I second what @1970Maverick said and the hands free unit in his post i bought for my sister (4 hours of comute 2 each way) not only does it work and have long battery life but it also cuts itself off and on as you leave and come back to the vehicle so you never have to touch it once set up.

She loves it so much that i bought one for a spare for me if i have to drive another vehicle. Well worth the price if you factor in that its half of what a ticket is for having your phone in your hand. I bought it back in June right before the law came into effect here in VA.
