I can't recall if the Eddie Bauer included the towing package option or if it remained available as an option. Mine has it as it is a requirement for any truck I buy. The reason for me is the transmission cooler the Ford towing package includes. If you don't have a trans cooler I'd suggest getting one before towing frequently or for long distances.

My 2004 EB 4x4 is rated at 8,500lbs max trailer weight as I recall and I have towed many times up to ~5,500lbs. I pretty much always tow cars though so there is very little air drag in addition to the weight. You'll likely have significant air drag induced due to the trailer size meaning the drive train will be working harder and need the best cooling you can provide. I have not changed tires for towing, these days I'm running General Grabber HTS 60 load range SL.

Check the owners manual for your Expy as it's a good source of info to start with.

My 05 EB Has hitch and plug. You will need to Install a electric brake controller. I tow every weekend dump trailer is 5k+. And my horse trailer is 4klbs empty. Just did 160mile trip and averaged 10.7mpg (3”lift with 33” tires). doing 65-70. I wouldn’t go much past 7k lbs. sl load is good for most conditions. But if you plan to tow long distance. Upgrade to c-load.
