Just a heads up for those of us in the salt belt. I was putting new brake pads on my 2018 Expedition and noticed that one of the front caliper slide pins was seized. I was able to loosen it and lubed it up with silicone so that it moves freely now. I ordered a new slide pin and rubber boots and will replace it when I take off my snow tires/wheels in the spring. I suspect the rubber boot on the slide pin allowed the original silicone to leak out and allowed it to rust from the salt. No sign that the pad had been dragging on the rotor, but I'm sure it was only a matter of time. For anyone that is interested, I've pasted the link below to the new slide pin/rubber boot kit from Tasca parts. It's only $10.

I do this annually on my wifes sedan. If we don't grease the slide pins, the calipers seize up every couple years and ruin a pad and rotor as well. Salt Salt Salt. I left my expedition in the garage today because we got 6" of snow and there's salt everywhere. The old sedan can eat the salt! :)
