Rear wiper does lousy job. Put on new blade. No help.
Seems no pressure against glass.

Three suggestions:

Ensure the rear glass is clean outside - with no debris such as tar or road sap on the glass.

Replace the wiper arm.

On my 2015 Expediton, I spray the pivot portion of the wiper arm with spray lubricant (SuperLube, garage door lubricant, etc.) when I change the wiper blade. I put paper towels behind and around the arm, and soak the pivot area with the spray - and the move it back and forth to work the lubricant it.

Lubricating the pivot area of the wiper arm keeps it snug against the glass and wiping clear.

Did you use a new Motorcraft wiper blade?

Replace the wiper arm.
I second the motion. I'd try replacing the arm entirely and see how that does. Thankfully, the arms aren't very expensive. I broke mine the first time I tried to replace the blade. It was a good learning experience on what not to do.

As I recall when at the dealers they forgot to change wiper blade. Some kid came out and changed it. He had the arm bent to almost 90 degrees.
That’s when problem started. This is a 2015. Are you saying arms on earlier models have more pressure?
Thanks for all your help.

My 2015 has plenty of pressure. You are only supposed to lift the wiper arm slightly to change the OEM blade. Sounds as though the wiper arm is damaged.

I've used both style arms. The Gen3 is more "stylish", but the Gen2 arm is a better performer. Especially in snow or mud. Either one will fit either generation. But yes, if the tech installing your blade bent your old arm 90 degrees it's most likely damaged. Thomas your profile says you have a 2004 Expedition. Do you have a 2015 Expy now ?

I just bought a new arm on Amazon. I replaced the arm and blade. The blade is longer than the stock blade and it works great.
