Has anyone had FSA 21N08 reflash done yet?

Hey all, haven't been on the forum as much lately... I just looked at my paperwork from when I got both cats replaced in early September and they did 21B10B without asking/mentioning it. Relearn on trans was obvious, but, I have noticed a really terrible cold shifting, like complete garbage clunk kind of shifting with some hesitation prior. Can't be good/was way better before this was done and didn't mind the cam phaser rattle/didn't really notice it much/didn't care.
My Ford pass now shows 21N03 and 21N08. In the letter they sent, have to do these by February 2022 now to even have phasers replaced under warranty. I didn't think that was necessary in my situation as I didn't even notice much rattle initially/didn't bother me. Did Ford just make it worse with that 21B10B update? It seems so to me, just curious if anyone else has a similar experience.
I get a definite shudder at the stop sign down the street 3 out of 5 times there on a slight incline and have started from cold now and sporadic cold trash shifts.

You'd think they'd come up with a better naming convention for these 'optional' recalls... I think I had the 21B10 done a few weeks ago. I did it because of the letter stating extra warranty if and only if you had it done. It's always rattled at startup. I haven't taken the time to really assess if it's better or worse. However, I will say both before and after the upgrade, I notice odd shifts in the first 1-2 blocks of driving. I suspect this is just a large transmission and needs 30-60 seconds to really get the fluids completely circulated. It's annoying, especially when the industry touts this transmission as the best thing since sliced bread.
On another note, I used to use ECO mode to try to save fuel. Sadly, I drive a fair amount around town and mileage is awful, even in ECO. (13-14 via display, solid 1mpg less calculated). I think I'm giving up on ECO mode because it's such a slug. Much more fun to drive in default mode. Oh and why the hell can't the car remember the mode you were last in anyway??

I haven't been issued nor does my '20 Expy show the 21B10....yet.
My '20 Lariat has the 21B10 scheduled to be flashed next week.

So far, neither of my vehicles have cam phaser issues.

Exactly!!! If I drive down a gravel road, aren't I more than likely going to be driving on it again after I stop and park (at my house, the store, the park, the office, jobsite, whatever it is I drove down that road to get to) then get back in it to drive back out the same gravel road I drove in on?!?!?

(sorry for the tangent, but whoever designed the drive mode selection behavior clearly has no real world experience driving a car on a daily basis in real world conditions :) )

I've given mine about 3 weeks (over 1000 miles) of time to do the relearn and it has only gotten worse. My 9-10 shift feels like the vehicle has a shift kit now, it still shudders, my 5-4 down shift sounds like its throwing the driveshaft out the side of the vehicle. I give up at this point... I am at 45k miles right now and I won't own it till 60k.

My favorite vehicle I've ever owned in 20 years of driving turned out to be the worst purchase I've ever made :(

Bill...I'm so sorry to hear this. This is why I'm done with this whole thing. I have NO plans on doing any update. I too, used to LOVE this truck. I'm over it, I don't care about it, I'm ready to dump it. I doubt Ford is listening, but they should. Like I said before, I thought about getting a new Aviator this year or next. Not now. Not even a Lightening.

No disrespect to those who are ordering 2022's, but I just shake my head and laugh. Unless things have changed, I don't know why anyone would buy a new one after reading all these posts about this issue. Anyone want to buy mine? Title in hand, 36,000 miles, transferable 6 yr/75,000 mile warranty.

Basically where I'm at too... I just have to figure out what's next. The new Tundras are showing up to dealers now.... I just don't want a truck if I'm being honest. I'd have a hard time going back to GM, I can't see the Yukon/Tahoe/Suburban being that much more reliable.

@bill_b.... I agree too. What's next? IDK. Thought about a Genesis GV80. I like them, but IDK. I really like the new Lexus LX600, but gas mileage will really stink, $100K, IDK. I agree with you on the Yukon. The interior of the Infiniti QX80 is beautiful, but the truck is meh at best. I thought about the new restyled Lexus RX350 F Sport. $62k and NOT leather? Huh? But very nice. I might just keep this thing for another year or so and see. Good luck, brother. Let us know.

Took my 2019 Max to the dealer today to address the Customer Satisfaction Programs 21B10, 21N03, and 21N08 in Ford's letter dated October, 2021. The service advisor told me that I did not need the PCM reprogram (21B10) since the dealer had already replaced the cam phasers last June, with 14K miles on odometer, due to the rattle I was experiencing. I told him that in addition to the letter my FordPass app showed Field Service Actions for 21B10 and 21N08. He claimed the "redesigned parts" eliminate the need for any reprogram.
I haven't been able to reach a live person at Ford customer relationship center, so I came here hoping to verify his claims. Now I am more confused than ever.

Wow, I’m more confused also. Please keep us posted. I had the phasers done in March of 2020 and the dealer was happy to update the SW for the 21B10 which I believe opens the benefits for the 21N03. I didn’t think there was updated parts and they were trying to fix this with software. Please let us know or anyone else chime in if they know when updated parts came out.
