Hey everyone. I just picked up an 04 expedition Eddie Bauer. It has a V8.

It doesn't idle great and when accelerating at higher speeds (60-70mph) the truck kind of shakes/vibrates/shudders. Ive heard spark plugs, I've heard coils. I don't think it's a transmission thing.
I'm looking for a great mechanic who is experienced in this generation of truck to help me diagnose the issue. I'm located in Connecticut. I could go to NY MA or RI for someone excellent. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum! I bet there a ton of mechanics in your area that work on your '04. Just do a Yelp or google search for mechanics in your area a d check their reviews.

The good news is there is nothing really special about the 2004 Expeditions. Any good mechanic should be able to figure out the issue. A scan with a good OBDII scanner would be a terrific start quite frankly.

Since it's used doing some of the basic maintenance stuff would also likely be a beneficial start. For any used vehicle I buy I replace the spark plugs, every fluid front to back, all filters, any belts and all the coolant hoses.
