For those whom $6 (or $8 in future) gas is not a concern, this might be a good time to buy
I picked up my previous Expedition for a song back in 2008 because everyone was trading in their large SUV's upside down due to fear of $4 gasoline. Fourteen years later, $5 gasoline doesn't seem that expensive. For what's really just a second vehicle, I'm probably good up to $9 or so. I'm assuming that most of us waiting for branch new trucks that cost more than our first houses are similarly situated.

Yeah, I would assume so about the people in this forum as well.
But in the general public, there would be people who were on the borderline between an explorer and an expedition. They may have gone with an expedition in the past; but would now go with explorer. And that will reduce the demand; and hence reduce the price.

No offense, but I would guess there are very few people out there who are "probably good up to $9 or so" for gas. I make good money but there's no way I can afford gas to go up much more than it already has. I'm currently looking into a Sienna hybrid, but it is not ideal at all for my family of six living in the mountains where we get regular snow six months of the year.
