I just noticed this recall alert came up for 2016 Expy Limited. Reading in other threads sounds like it’s common issue.

Anyone done this recall yet?

Was the alert received via some type of Ford app?

Can you tell if it also applies to the 2015 models? Thank you.

Use the Car Care app from Carfax. It’s just showed up last week and says it was issued 3/15/2022

Thanks.

I checked the NHTSA site for the 2016 Expedition - no information.

I also did an online search - no information.

My 2017 Expedition Platinum is at Griffith Ford in San Marcos, TX Right now. The brakes master cylinder went out Sunday sending all the brake fluid into the booster. I sent my car to the dealer Monday for repair under Fords Recall 22S11. But here is the problem, they do not have the new improved Master Cylinder in stock. I'm told that in might be 72 hours or more before the new improved Master Cylinder is in!
Ford does not offer any kind of loner car under this recall either. So now I'm at the Dealers and Fords Mercy. Sooo now I will have to rent a car while mine is in the shop. Maybe I will have my car back in a few days but I'm not holding my breath. I was thinking about buying a new Expedition this fall, now I may have to rethink doing that. You would think that the Griffith Ford would at least get with Ford Motors and expedite the new parts for there customer.

I wonder if the aftermarket master cylinders are having any issues? If mine went out and they said it would be awhile for parts I'd probably just get a napa one and put it on.

Mine goes in tomorrow for this recall and part replacement. Dealer ordered the parts last week and I set up the appointment once he had the parts. I'll let you know how it goes. I had received the letter from Ford a couple weeks ago regarding the recall.

I hope you have better luck then me. I took my car into the dealership Monday at 7:30 AM. As of this morning the parts are still not in! It was my understanding that Ford was to have the updated parts to the dealership in 72 hours, It's now been 4 days (96 hours). I'm also told by the dealership that there is no way for them to even follow up and see whether the parts have even been shipped? Guess Ford don't care if I ever buy a new car or truck from them in the near future.
