Another week, another update. This time my sales person called ford also.
Fully built, but waiting on undisclosed parts, they would not share which parts.
Estimated ship date has been removed from the system, it was 4/9/2022 but that was updated to TBD. Which my sales person said he saw happen to broncos and super duty also, essentially it means they may or may not have enough of the missing part coming in to finish a portion of the vehicles.
He said they go in order of production date and combination of which will get shipped first. So if your truck started production 2/23 and was missing only 1 part, you get the missing part before the vehicle that started a week later. Except if your vehicle requires multiple missing parts, you would only get the 1st missing part when the 2nd missing part is also available, essentially they prioritize parking spots trying to move vehicles off the lot.
I asked if they could just ship me the truck as is, he said no, each of these "ship without x part" requires special approval and the do that in bulk for a specific part.
Based on what he's seeing, he thinks delivery within the next 30 days is possible but unlikely. I asked what is going on with the dealer stock being delivered, he said those were part of the first quality control run and very limited production of each model type with allocations limited per dealer, he hasn't seen any green sheet orders delivered yet in the north east.
good info, but not promising.
I wonder what they tell me next week...

Ford Expedition sales decreased 80.69 percent to 1,917 units in March. That's compared to like +9,000 last year. It kinda puts their production problems in perspective. The big SUVS are the most profitable vehicles, yet FOMOCO is struggling to prioritize that production over everything else in their portfolio.

I just asked my dealer when scheduling may restart, as my order was placed 1/24 and hasn't been scheduled. He said there will be no scheduling this week, but it looks like they will next week. I am not holding my breath, but fingers crossed they will.

I would also assume that the dealers lobbied ford corp like crazy to get at least a few vehicles; even if that means ford allowed the dealers to cut in line over the individual private custom orders. The lobby power of dealers is obviously more than the private custom orders.

I checked autotrader for california. And there are like 2 or 3 on-the-lot vehicles. I called up one of them; and they are asking $11k over msrp.

My dealer received the title to mine yesterday. Hopefully it’s on a convoy

tracker shows “in production“. I’m not encouraged by the experiences I’m reading here
