4x4 High and Low blink and crusie control sometimes don't work

When I take a longer drive (more then 100km) sometimes the 4x4 High and Low blink one time (I think) in the cluster.
Also the cruise control doesn't work sometimes. When I break and then try to reengage it, it doesn't work.
What could it be.

I'm not sure on the 4wd indicators. However, I have seen a couple brake switches cause cruise control problems. The switches always look okay and seem to function normally, but cause occasional cruise control engagement failure.

Do you have a code reader that will read drivetrain error codes ? Or a laptop that you can install the ForScan app on ? See what codes are stored, may tell you what the problem is.

It seems it was the brake light switch. After chaning it to anew Motorcraft one no 4x4 lights are flashing and cruise control seem also to work in the right way now.

Hmm, glad you found the resolution and thank for posting it here.

That was the fix for my daughters ABS and cruise issue on her Ranger as well. I never found anything for the brake light switch with my diag scanners.
