I have to be honest…I didn’t see this wait when I ordered it. Don’t know if my head was in the sand or what but I certainly didn’t expect this. I’m in a similar boat. Ordered 10.28 and per the last email I got I should be in production next week but nothing has changed with my tracker and no sticker, so we’ll see. Fingers crossed for us both :)
Yeah it's been a long wait. And it's bad timing for our family, as our oldest vehicle (2007 4runner) is in need of some repairs and we actually need a new vehicle sooner than later.

Looks like I will be saving some money as I will be dropping from a Platinum to an XLT. They just saved me $18K.
I actually saw that info above as good news with Ford doing the right thing with the 2nd row controls. I can wait for them to arrive as long as I eventually get them. I already ordered a lowly XLT, haha, but can definitely understand why not having the Platinum seats would be a no go for some. Don't think Platinum adds much beyond those.

That update from Ford amounts to potentially positive news for all of us who didn’t order a Platinum. I can live with the rear seat controls being added later. Kids won’t know the difference. I’m hoping this means they’re about to schedule a bunch of our builds!

The ONLY reason I was doing a Platinum was the bluecruise and the massaging seats for long trips. I just don’t think the bluecruise is worth the upcharge. I have an XLT right now and love it, plenty of features on the 202 package.

with all these changes, it begs the question, why pay an upcharge for a Platinum, if features besides bluecruise are not yet available. yes, saving chips off certain parts means other cars can be built faster, but I call BS when they give the impression their primary concern is getting cars out to customers. Their concern is selling as many units as possible for a profit and maximizing their bottom line. Now it will be up to the customer to wait on the parts and fight with the local dealer to have them installed at some point while they are inconvenienced and waiting without their car. want to bet some dealerships will say they have no loaners while they fix your 80+ K truck? I'll wait for the RES. If it does not turn up this year, Ill keep running my current truck and change vehicle brands altogether - maybe get a smaller SUV like a Benz GLS. I believe interior creature comforts are important, but that's just me...(rant)

So, if I'm reading that update correctly a dealer must manually add the MCS removal option code (88R) to all their orders otherwise it will never be scheduled?

That is how I read it as well.

Well that news absolutely stinks! I don’t know what I want to do now. I know I don‘t want a stripped down platinum, but I don’t want to have to put in a new order and go to the bottom of the list. Another thing, $300 off for the Platinum seats and $50 for the rear air controls with heated seats doesn’t seem like near enough off. Blah!

What's not mentioned is the disposition of vehicles already on chip holds. Sigh.

My read is that the vehicles already "in production" - built but chip hold, or maybe even scheduled - aren't impacted. I keep checking my window sticker and although they update it about once a week, nothing but the date stamp has changed since early March. So I think my car -- if I ever get it -- will have all the features I ordered.
