I’m sure this question is best answered by my dealer, but thought I would ask here first in case anyone has done this before. If I were to change my order from a Platinum Max to a Limited Max, do I have to put in a all new order? I was just wondering because I know I’m allowed to change things on my order like paint, interior options, ect. But, I wasn’t sure if a major change like an entire trim level was allowed. I’m asking because I was thinking maybe I could keep my place ”in line” instead of moving to the back. It probably doesn’t work this way but thought I’d ask. Thanks.

Also, do you get the old price or have to pay the new price. I believe all Expeditions went up about $,2400 plus the destination fee went up a $100.

If I lose my place in line and have to pay more for less, I'm out.

And that’s another question I need to ask my dealer.

I’m also pretty sure that I am not going to be part of the scheduling that’s happening this week. As was stated a few days ago, anyone who has the platinum with the massaging front seats must have those deleted before your order will be scheduled. Well, on Friday afternoon, my dealer still didn’t have the code available to get those seats deleted.

So for those who have an unscheduled order (Limited in my case), do we have to go back to the dealer and have the recently pulled items deleted (park assist / rear climate controls) in order to be scheduled?

I have a loaded limited as well. I asked my dealer, sent all the notes from Ford, and this is the reply I got from my dealer:

Not scheduled yet, those are options that come with packages. I cannot remove them, Ford should be doing that automatically.

For those saying the dealer must actively remove them to get scheduled, what does the dealer need to do exactly? Enter the code provided -- is that 57c?

From my understanding of the note from Ford, and from talking to my dealer, yes, you must have your dealer remove those options in order to get scheduled. When I visited my dealer Friday afternoon, it showed the 57C removal option on my order.

My production date was 3/18, and like you, delivery date was 4/6, and it is in chip hold. A week ago I was given the same information concerning the 6 week completion date. My husband called this past Friday, and he was told that my vehicle is on chip hold because Ford does not have the chips for the park assist feature, and FMC sent letters to the dealers to give customers the option of removing the feature. However, he was told that if you select to remove the park assist, you will lose the entire package. My husband called our dealer, and our sales man knew nothing about the park assist issue. Needless to say, we are fed up with the entire situation. My husband has a meeting on Monday with our salesman and the manager to find out what is truly going on. Marketing told my husband that the park assist chip issue has been known since the end of March. Who is telling the truth?

I ran into the same issue. I went there to remove the massaging seats and they said that they didn’t have that code yet (88R). They also said that up until now ford has been removing options automatically and the build sheets show the credits. As of Friday my build didn’t have any options removed.

I asked to be changed to a Limited Stealth Performance but he said that my platinum was in “order preview” which means that there is a good chance it will be scheduled soon. He recommended not to change anything with the original order, but instead to put in a new order and just see which gets picked first and go from there.

I wouldn't advise changing your model from Platinum to Limited Stealth. You should stay in the queue if you want to see your vehicle this year. Plus, it is probably price protected if you processed your order prior to 4/14/22.

The plant that builds Expeditions and F Series Super Duty vehicles is Kentucky Truck Plant. The people that work there are really good, but the whole issue is supply constraints.

You should reach out to your dealer. The only thing that I understand that WON'T be available for this model year, and won't be eligible for a retro-fit, is the multi-contour/Massaging Seats. The dealer should have ALL of the sales codes: 57C, 98G, 52L, and 88R which either remove the content or delay the content to be installed at the dealer 12-18 months after delivery.

I was told (I have a 2022 Platinum on order) that everything, OTHER THAN the Multi-Contour seats, will be retro-fitted 12-18 months from delivery.

If your dealer says something different, I'd be interested in hearing their response.

That’s funny, because if you have the HD Tow, that removes the Active Park Assist. So, if that’s true, mine, as well as others, and probably sitting there for no reason. Just like other people said, eventually they will get to those vehicles and only then realize that some of them were indeed complete and could of been shipped. My dealer has no answers and have no heard anything. I spoken to all the way up to the GM who runs multiple dealerships. It’s all a joke.

I did not order my vehicle with the HD Tow. It seems as though the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
