Looking for some recommendations, 80 year old Dad in Eastern Virginia needs tires on his 2015 Expo EL 4X4 .. 275/65x18. I convinced him to buy this truck 3 years ago after 20+ years of suburbans... he is not a convert yet! Loves the power, but not so much when he gets in the mud or wet grass (he just lights em up...does not understand the HP difference!) Mostly highway driving so tight ride (no wondering) and noise are important too... but he does live a mile off road and needs decent off road traction. so far I have ID'd Firestone Destination A/T2
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac
General Grabber A/TX
BFGOODRICH TRAIL-TERRAIN T/A
Bridgestone Dueller AT Revo3
Khumo Roadventure AT52
Vredstien Pinza
Pretty much in order of price from like $270ea to $240ea... As you can imagine a 80 year old ornery old coot does not like the idea of dropping a grand on tires! Any recommendations or feedback appreciated? what have YOU had on your expo and why did you like/not like them. Thanks for the input guys!!!

I have the Bridgestone Dueller AT's on my '14 EL LTD. I put them on when I bought it 3.5 years ago with 80K on it. I now have just under 100K. I run the tires year round and absolutely love them. We have similar winter conditions as you guys, plenty of lake effect snow up here. The tires are excellent in snow, and not noisy at all in the summer on dry/wet roads. I'd buy them again...

I live in Northern Virginia and have been absolutely happy with my Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. We make frequent trips and have no complaints. I have taken multiple trips to shoot that were up mountain roads as well as some off road spots in good and bad weather with no problems.

I also run the Bridgestone Dueller Revo 3s, E load rating, and am very pleased with them. Currently on my 4th set between the Expedition and a diesel F250 4x4.

Never had issues in snow, sand, or mud and regularly take 2000+ mile long road trips with the truck without complaint. They run quiet on pavement and last forever.

BFG AT’s are pretty much the gold standard, but everything on the list is a good choice.

+1 on the dualers they last a long time the Firestone well unless your making rubber bumpers for a go cart track I'd stay away from them if your going bfg I'd say the all terrains but bfg quality seems to have slipped alot in the last few years. Duratecs seem to have nice lugs which leads me to think their gonna have some road noise and i can't comment as to the rest

You're right on the Duratracs -- they hum on the road.

As mentioned up-thread, BFG ATs have been around forever and, at least in my experience, are as good as they've ever been. It's just that better options have been developed over the years that surpass the BFG AT's capabilities and longevity. They're no longer worth the cost, comparatively speaking.
