My 2018 Ford Expedition had condensation in the 3rd brake light and wasn't working.

I bought a new one to replace it. I can't figure out how to remove the old one. No Google search or YouTube search shows anyone explaining how to do this. Looks like it just snaps in but I am afraid to break the housing.

Anyone know how to remove this? Any help is appreciated.

I had mine done at the dealer under warranty. I believe they had to remove the interior rear hatch and spoiler IIRC (not 100% sure).

Wanted to follow up here since I had the same issue and the carcarekiosk video is useless.

It's very easy to remove the remove the spoiler and replace the chmsl. Pop the rear glass, remove the 4 10mm bolts (2 going through each hinge) then the 4 t25 torx screws going through the glass. You then need to release the 2 plastic clips going through the hinges (pliers work well) and the spoiler will be free. I didn't even disconnect the electric/washer fluid lines, just laid the spoiler back against the roof. To get the CHMSL out it's then 3 7mm bolts ( a nut driver works well for this) and then releasing the 2 clips (one on each side, reference your replacement part for where to push).

Found the part online for ~150 bucks. Took me 15 minutes to replace, the dealer said it would be about 500$ to replace. YMMV

Had the same issue, thanks to the post above by rs4-380 it was an easy fix. Don't bother with the carcarekiosk video. The clips on the light were tricky to release, be careful not to damage the spoiler. CHMSL replacement part number was JL1Z-13A613-C for Ford 2019 Expedition XLT, total was $160 including shipping. Dealer quote was laughable.
