Hello all.

My AC sometimes turns off and will only come on after I wiggle the four wires under the passenger side. What is that part called? Where can i find it? Is it an easy fix where I can replace it?

Thanks.

When you pull the plug off the resistor, check it for melted plastic and insulation. Often it's the plug and not the resistor that's bad. Lots of current through those and the heat up and cook.
So my wife’s 2017 limited starting doing this today. Went out there and moved the harness up and it kicked back on. But the black wire at the end of the 4 wire plug gets too hot to touch. I don’t know what to do at this point.

Just did this 2 weeks ago. AC on/off, wiring harness super hot. Was told by my shop to replace both. Got a Motorcraft resistor, and a basic wiring plug off of Amazon.

So far so good, only thing that I would say that was not so straight forward was that one of the wires from the trucks end is a much smaller diameter than the rest while the wiring plug was all the same gauge across. I had to strip and double up that smaller wire to crimp. Hope that's not an issue, but so far everything seems to be working correctly.

Some of the resistor's have the harness with it when you buy it.

Do you happen to know the part number of the resistor and harness/ connector you got? I was going to go ahead and replace both of those and the blower motor as well.
