I placed an order before Thanksgiving - went into production 3/16 and has been on chip hold since. Reached out to my dealer yesterday, they are able to find a bit more info, and gave me a screenshot that said the order was updated this morning with a mid July completion, and that may be without the rear seat HVAC controls fully operational.

I just called Ford too and have the same timeline of Aug 4-10... might also find another option.
I have a deposit on a dealer ordered one that was built on 3-3 but has been sitting since. Guess I may be in the same August issue with a Expy that has been sitting for over 6 months. Does not sound too appealing.

I too was just told today that the new "projected" ETA is 08/14. I ordered 10/25/2021.
I was in the same situation and asked my dealer to change to MY23.

Order bank starts on June 15 already and production in September. So you get a chance by just losing couple months to get and MY23 model, which makes sense financially (no changes expected other than colors and maybe rear refrigerated seat option on Platinums)

I cannot imagine they will send out 2023 models before all 2022 are completed and shipped. This could be a very long time!

Orders for MY22 that sit as Unscheduled are not guaranteed to be built. Scheduling has occurred through July so they have appx 6 weeks of '22 production allocation left and only seem to have scheduled confirmed orders mostly through February/early March. Anything that doesn't get picked up for scheduling probably by end of June will have to roll over / convert to a '23.

Ford will hold pretty firm with their MY22 end date and MY23 first job date, unscheduled orders for the other product lines have seen similar issues. Read about a guy that had his F250 MY21 order roll to a 22 and most likely will get pushed to a 23 now.

The reason is cost. They sent a lot of production to suppliers in Asia. They reduce the inventory to extreme very low levels.

Now they are paying the price
I don't think it's just Ford. I have a friend who's a Chevy person and they couldn't get a new vehicle either. Chevy was using a lottery system to determine who got a new vehicle. My friend ended up getting a Dodge and even that took forever. We need to move manufacturing back state side and stop relying on other countries. That's the only way to stop the madness.

I think this is wishful thinking.
Just because order banks open and they anticipate the start of production for September there’s nothing that guarantees people ordering a 23 will see it before February. Maybe some will flow through like they did the 22, but essentially canceling a 22 order to get a 23 just pushes back the time to get the truck. If it’s purely for a model year thing, yea go for it, but check the order guide for sure bc features might change different from the rumor mill, and prices will definitely go up. Value after 3-4 or 7-8 years between a 22 vs 23 will be minimal, 23 might be worth few $k more but you might pay a few $k more upfront.

Maybe you are correct, maybe not.

I ordered mine in October last year, would not see produced at least until August

I know the risks although I still think I will have better chances of depreciation and having my build as expected with the optional I choosed.

Meanwhile the depreciation of my car will not raise as much so the trade should be close as the 22.

Will keep you all posted, hope to be right on this one.
