Can anyone tell me where the heck the AC accumulator/drier is on a 2003 Expedition XLT 4.6 (2nd half of year model if memory serves and if it makes any difference), that has rear air?

Google searches haven't helped. :(

TIA!

It's up there on the passenger side of the radiator area. The pipe coming off the compressor goes right to it. It's not very big is why you might overlook it.

Thanks!

Yes, I found it this morning. The problem was trying to locate the darn thing in the dark last night.

Even during daylight I had to FEEL for it because there's so much crap above it. ;)

Now that we found that, any idea where the REAR expansion valve is?
LOL

It's back there in the rear quarter panel just before the rear evaporator.

Thanks so much again for the info!

Last question (I hope) would I have to remove any rear seats to get to it, or would just the panel come off without it turning into a major job?

(And is it safe to assume this is on the passenger side?)

Thanks again for the information.

I was able to access everything in there.

Also found that both blend door actuators were unplugged back there, so I'll need to figure out why!

Because they break so often, people just unplug them. At least the temperature control one.
The other one controls roof/floor vent selection and doesn't seem to break as often.
Honestly, I would leave the temperature control one unplugged. Set it to cold and leave it.
You can control overall cabin temp with just the front vents.

Thanks. The mechanic that was working on replacing the AC parts plugged them back in.
The rear one, that controls the roof/floor continues to just click, so that one is definitely bad and I didn't catch what the front one was doing.

I'm perfectly fine leaving them disconnected as the rear roof AC was working, and as you said, that can always control heat (when rarely needed as I live in Las Vegas) front front of car alone... eventually *maybe* I'll change out those actuators since I know where they are now and it's not a tough job.

Now I'm moving on to front climate control problems.

These are your actuators.
The one circled in green is the roof / floor vent direction control door, and the one circled in red is the temperature control actuator that most people unplug...

Edited to correct myself.
For some reason I thought those actuators were reversed :(

Since I already have the thing open, I may as well change that rear actuator.
