Awhile back I posted about a coolant leak.
Now I’m getting a small what I think is transmission leak. Was about 4 inches in dia in garage floor. Red and slightly oily.
Had it at shop today at 7 am. They were going to check it out.
Called at 430 and was told they hadn’t had time to look.
Plus to make a bad story worse we need the car to make a 1000 mile trip on Wednesday.
Does this engine have transmission fluid dipstick? Can I add if needed?
Anything special to look at once they get it up? Just want to make things easier for them.
If they can’t find any obvious leak do you think safe to drive?
This has really thrown me for a loop.
Thanks

I believe you have the same 6r80 transmission as mine, which means the dipstick is under the truck on the passenger side above the transmission pan. You need to remove the cap and it comes out with the cap.

Look at the transmission bulkhead connector. That's the fitting that leads the wiring into the transmission. They fit in with two o-rings that leak, and Ford has a kit to fix them. The leak runs around the pan, making it appear that the pan gasket is leaking. Common problem, but the pan has to come off to replace.

Make sure it's not a power steering leak before you rip into the transmission.

OP here.
We drove about 600 miles today from South Georgia to Clarksville TN. Through Atlanta and Chattanooga. Avg about 75 mph.
Trans temp steady at 200-202 and radiator gauge under 1/2.
Doe the trans temp sound good for 90 degrees and those driving conditions
