What’s everyone getting for mileage on their v-6 expos. My wife has a 2010 5.4 and is getting 14.5 average. Just wondering if it’s worth getting the v6 or not. Trucks paid off so if I upgrade I would have a payment. Thanks!!!

Tankful's today generally show 19-20mpg....but my average is 18.5

My wife is heavy footed and her mixed average is 17mpg on our 2017 HD tow. It's actually gotten better, when we bought it last August it only had 15,000 miles and we were averaging 15mpg mixed until the 26,000 mile mark.

17.5 until I calibrated the display. Now a more accurate 15-16 depending on how much highway time we spend. But we live on top of a mountain and do a lot of engine braking.

2017 Expedition Limited EL with HD towing package. Getting 17.5mpg local driving and 22mpg highway driving for gas mileage. Last December drove from Massachusetts to Utah and back did 17.5mpg(pushing a headwind going) and 18.5mpg(crosswind returning) that included driving on snow covered roads for 300 miles.

Last September did the same drive pulling a travel trailer(21ft 4500lbs) and averaged 9.8mpg we stopped for gas every 3 to 3.5hrs and averaged 23 gallons per fillup (33.5 gal tank).

Maybe I need to make a detailed miles/gallon check. Seems you guys are driving on a different planet where all the roads are downhill and down wind. I'm thinking I maybe get 14mpg at best.

I get 13mpg in my Transit 250 van with the 3.5 Ecoboost and a loaded ladder rack. Same vans without the rack get 17.5mpg. I'm guessing that's what most people will get with these engines.

This was so funny I had to log on to respond.....Chucks been around a long time.....

Just back your foot off the gas, ALL THE TIME brother.....LOL......

In both of my old expys that had the 5.4, they got 13.5mpg overall. The 3.5 will *hit & git it if I ask it to, I just don't......like hardly ever. It might have, MIGHT have 10 WFO starts in 5 years. Got too many fun things to thrash.....no point in ruining a good truck.
