6 speed = 6R80
10 speed = 10R80

Both have very similar temperature specs. I think the 10r80 was introduced in 2018 for the 4th gen, so you will have the 6r80.

Someone also told me I need a transmission “service “. It has 89k miles.
Ford generally calls for fluid service at 150,000 but many people disagree and feel it should be done sooner. I service mine at about 100,000, but many do them every 60,000 or less. Today's synthetic fluid holds up well, but I often feel performance changes long before the recommended interval.

Of course "severe service" intervals - towing, hot weather, city or off-road driving - call for more frequent service.

Look at the transmission bulkhead connector. That's the fitting that leads the wiring into the transmission. They fit in with two o-rings that leak, and Ford has a kit to fix them. The leak runs around the pan, making it appear that the pan gasket is leaking. Common problem, but the pan has to come off to replace.

Make sure it's not a power steering leak before you rip into the transmission.
I thought it was the gasket but the local shop lifted it up and showed me that it's coming from those o-rings. I was told that is the most common place for a trans leak on these vehicles.
