I pulled my 16’ 4000lb rv from Portland to Boise on my stock wheels/tires and I averaged 7 MPG… I switched from stock tune to 92 octane tune mid trip with no real changes. I was expecting closer to 10-12 so that was pretty disappointing.

The key to any sort of reasonable mpg while towing is the speed. The mpg will fall in a non-linear fashion as speed rises. Unfortunately, a head wind will cause the same effects. There's no getting around the physics. I drive my other vehicles instead of the Expedition so the fuel savings covers those periods when I need to use the Expedition for something.
