For those of you who have a 2022, how is the sound quality with wireless Apple CarPlay? Is it as good as wired?

Also curious as to your thoughts of the base B and O Stereo????

I've been using mine for a month now and the sound quality is fine, just as I'd expect. Having used USB/wired carplay for 5 years, I can't tell the difference. It's usually just me in the car and I listen with the volume around 14-15, which looks to be about 40-50%. I've got the higher end B&O system, so can't comment on the base system.

Music quality seems fine. I don't notice a difference between my 2019 and the 2022. I had and now have the highest end B&O sound system. Not sure the real differences between base and high end/top of the line.

My only issue is with 'Announcements'. I don't know if this is an Apple thing, a Ford thing, or wireless thing, but my announcements won't read text messages.

Also, when I plug my phone in to USB, it seems to get confused and CarPlay acts all wonky until I unplug my phone. Therefore, I have kept it wireless. Granted, I have not spent a TON of time troubleshooting the issue, I just really noticed it this past weekend when on a 225 mile trip. A text would come in, it would do the incoming ding, but nothing was read. Same if you go to the text screen and select a text, nothing.

I am on iOS 15.5. I have decided against the 15.6 beta because my work said the one app we use is NOT supported and I use it often. So, there should be no incompatibility going on. Again, I have not spent any real time troubleshooting it. Maybe tomorrow I will have some time.

I'm sure u can't get the 22 spker unit in the Timberline trim, so yours is the same as the one that was in your prior limited, not the unleashed system new to the 22s.

I just checked and my 501A package includes the 12 speaker plus subwoofer B&O Unleashed sound system. So, not 22 speakers, but still a decent one... and the same one I had in my 2019 model.

There seems to be some confusion. The "Unleashed" system is the 22 speaker. The 12 speaker is not called Unleashed. It's easy to tell which one you have. The Unleashed will have speakers in the headliner. It's a bummer that you cannot get the Unleashed in the Timberline.

Ford marketing didn't get the memo, their Build and Price site says B&O Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen, 12-Speakers including Subwoofer for the Timberline 501A.

Looks like standard is a 6 speaker non-branded for XL, XLT, and Timberline 500A. Timberline 501A and Limited 301A-303A get the 12 speaker B&O while the Limited 304A, KR, and Platinum get the 22 speaker Unleashed.

So far I like it a lot, works pretty good but it occasionally doesn’t want to switch from my wife’s phone to my phone. Id say it happens about 1 in 10…..hopefully it gets a firmware update to make it better.
