I remember this. We bought a house where an Explorer was parked in the garage and caught on fire because of that issue. They rolled it out before the house caught fire but the previous owners had to disclose the smoke damage repairs.
Yes, I remember seeing similar reports on the news.

I don't like mine outside either. Ford needs to step up their game. I like mine better out of the elements and away from these teenagers who like to destroy vehicles.

I thought there was one for a faulty brake switch on the master cylinder that leaked and started
On my 1995 F150 the recall was for an unfused wire that ran under the master cylinder that eventually could get brake fluid leaked on it causing it to corrode an short out. The fix was splice in a fusible link. That was a simple fix. I don’t understand why they had an unfused wire to begin with.

You folks with garages are lucky. In my 35+ years of driving and owning cars, I have never had a house with a garage.

If you own a new Expedition, you can afford a move to a better neighborhood. :D I haven't even locked my car doors in 15 years.

We've had a 2-car garage the last 2 houses (~18 years) and I think between us we parked in the garage less than 5 times.

Well, it's not that we aren't in a nice neighborhood or house, but you have people like this no matter where you live, unfortunately it's their up bringing and people they hang around. (Don't be so quick to judge or assume)

Yeah just wait until the gas siphoning bandits strike again like they did in the 70’s gas crisis. They prefer good neighborhoods and big SUV’s because they are most likely kept close to full and have large tanks.

I didn't assume anything; you said there are people destroying vehicles right out in front of your house. That's not a great neighborhood. We had that where I grew up as well. It was mostly a quiet, safe neighborhood, but it wasn't great. And we didn't live in 2A Friendly state like you do, so you have people doing it in spite of great odds that they'll be shot in the act. :p
