Just picked up my 2022 Timberline and was wondering what the factory tint is. Looks like the front has none but the backs seem kinda dark maybe 20%? I want to make the backs darker. Has anyone had their Gen 4 tinted all around and what % did you use. Thanks!

Privacy glass is around 25% but is just a darkening function, nothing else. I’m in Texas and plan to go to legal minimum on the fronts (35%) and have the same done to all the back windows but it will be done on top of the factory privacy coating. Biggest thing will be the ceramic tint finish for UV protection. Also getting an 80% windshield covering, not sure yet on the sunroof but probably the same for that too.

I did ceramic on everything but the windshield. Fronts are 35, sunroof is 70 and all the factory darkened windows are the clear tint.

What does 35% applied to the rears (with factory tinted glass) look like? Is it too dark or perfect?

The VLT calculator say a 20% factory with 35% film is a vlt of 7%.

I held up a piece of 35% to my rears and it did not seem that much darker. Albeit the tine was not installed just holding up.

The GM privacy glass is very similar from what I can tell to Ford. Here is an Escalade that did 35% all around, you can see the front driver's window is not as dark as the rear door and back window. Best part with the ceramic tint is inside looking out is quite clear and bright actually. Had my wife's windshield on her car done and it is significantly cooler in our Texas heat than my car that didn't get the windshield covered.

A place that I talked to about getting mine done said that 35% on the front doors and 50% on the rear gives it a very even look all around for the Fords.

I tinted the windows all the way around including both windshields. I put 90% on the front which looks clear but helps with heat reduction. It makes a massive difference and nano ceramic tint is a MUST. There’s no point in using carbon tint.

35% on the front (to keep the cops happy), 25% on the rears (which looks like blackout because of the existing tint; I can’t see through my windows with my nose pressed against them).

This is 50 on the windshield, 20 on the driver/passenger, and 50 on top of the rear privacy glass.

Where do you live that you can get away with those options? Texas any more than 80-90% on the windshield and you can get pulled over quick. Law says 35% on the front side windows but people get away with a little darker depending on your skin tone and parts of Houston you are cruising through.

Can you take some pictures from inside to out for each window? I was really considering 35% all around but might be too dark for the rear windows.
