25% over MSRP? Better off doing factory order?

I had a 22 stealth 303A on order since March and after trying to work with my dealer to remove constrained options in late April to allow my build to happen, I realized I was not going to get a vehicle anytime soon (dealer said I’d be waiting a long time). My dealer, who I’d bought 3 vehicles from was being seriously difficult. That night I went home and started looking for what might be on a lot somewhere and was shocked to find something similar to what I wanted just 8 miles away that had just arrived. One trip to that dealer and some negotiating had me driving it home that evening. Ironically, what I ordered Is now scheduled for 7/25 build and even tough have tried to cancel multiple with my dealer, Ford still is sending me updates. Keep looking around and use the Ford website for locating a vehicle.

The dealer has no interest in canceling your order. It is hard to get stock units right now. So when it comes in they will sell it to someone else at a much higher cost. It's a win for them when you don't want it.

My local dealer is accepting X plan (which you can get with a membership to the mustang club of America with a 3 month wait) and Ford is offering a $1500 rebate for custom orders (that was in May, I don't know if Ford stopped that). I plan on buying out my lease on my 19 Nav and ordering a new Nav BL this summer when the banks open. The resale on my truck is way higher than my buyout which I don't think is coming down anytime soon. I am just nervous about the content deletion, I do not want a truck missing stuff that will pester me every time I drive it. Strange times...

Are all these same issues happening with Lincoln Navigators as well? I feel like there is no hope in getting an Expedition and don't want to pay top dollar and not get key features. Such a disappointment!! I really need a new full size SUV and not sure what to do now!

Yes, they will be able to sell it. I have a BMW on order and they were pretty up front about it. Put a deposit down, if you don’t want it, we will refund the full amount, keep the car and sell it, no problem.

It is amazing that ford is selling these dumbed down vehicles with missing features. I wouldn't buy one.

Just not a good time to buy a new vehicle right now.

If you can wait - not expecting twins or some of this nature - just wait one year.

Things will be very different by then, economy is slowing down and supply chain is starting easy up.

Conditions may be very different if you can wait.

Im seeing the light. My 'rush' was because I have an ecoboost taurus that needed the dreaded 3000 dollar timing chain fix. The car is pretty beat and this repair is a sizeable % of the total value of the car. But, realizing that dumping this car to save the 3k but then paying a 20k premium on a new vehicle is not making a ton of sense. I went ahead with the repair and politely asked my kids to stop growing this year and perhaps just double down next year so they will still fit in our Flex.

Finally, somebody gets it!!!

Another thing that must be answered is, how reliable will these vehicles be once in the hands of the customers.

Our timing is bad. We have a 2007 4runner that I need to drop the fuel tank and inspect / replace the fuel pump and filter. Something is wrong there and it will render it not drivable for a week or so. Unfortunately, we only have 2 cars and my wife drives every other day.
