25% over MSRP? Better off doing factory order?

BlueCruise will not be released in the future for the non-Platinum versions. If you look at the order guide, Platinum includes "FORD CO-PILOT360 ACTIVE2.0" vs. "Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0" and "Ford Co-Pilot360TM Assist+" for other trim levels. These all represent hardware packages. BlueCruise is a software package in addition the the hardware package needed for it, and is listed separately.

I have no idea why we're getting BlueCruise "included" with the price of the vehicle, whereas for my Mach E, I had to specify the hardware package, and (in theory) pay extra for the software to activate it, and only on a subscription basis at that.

I'm still wondering if BlueCruise is included forever. If you look at the live data for Navigation, it's called out as a three year subscription, whereas BlueCruise is listed with no such limitation.

You're getting it included to differentiate the platinum trim from other trims. Same way you get the more premium leather seats, you can't specify if you want them or not. (Multi-contour supply chain issues aside)

Blue cruse will be a subscription service, just like supercruse from GM. the Navgation data you're calling out is 3 year subscription for continuous updates, after the 3 years you have to pay for the updates yourself or extend your subscription. Supercruse/bluecruse require the updates to function and if your subscription is termed, they assume the maps are out of date, and the software shuts the functionality off. You will still have navigation after the 3 years, the system will work, but the roads might not be accurate or updated.

Just not a good time to buy a new vehicle right now.

If you can wait - not expecting twins or some of this nature - just wait one year.

Things will be very different by then, economy is slowing down and supply chain is starting easy up.

Conditions may be very different if you can wait.

Chip shortage is expected to extend until at least 2024. :(

The supply chain right now is like a 2 mile long trainwreck where the train hasn't even come to a complete stop yet.

Indeed. What really irks me about all of this is that it is all self-inflicted and was completely preventable. Between consumers that just can't control their buying impulses and a slew of national gov'ts that have handled and continue to handle everything so poorly, I don't think anyone can realistically even see the finish line.

We hardly ever buy new vehicles. Our timing is horrible, as we are in need of a new vehicle. I wish we had bought in 2020!

Did not know about the additional cameras. Where did you find those pictures with the cameras being shown in the interior.

I feel your pain. I haven't bought a car in 10 years (though do buy new when I do). My current car won't make it 2-3 more years without some $$$ put into it, so I am in the unavoidable position of having to buy now. I was looking at buying in 2020 and am kicking myself for not doing it then.

You left out the major culprit. Big Business ! Remember they took about everything out of the country for cheaper labor and to maximize profits. Sadly they are still screwing the consumer.

Minor update: A month later and one of the expeditions that spurred this thread is still available. Although the mark up has dropped considerably and I think it is around 5%. They have called me once a week about it. A little surprised as they seemed so confident some one would schoop it up, as was I.

I also recently got a call asking if I would be interested if they dropped the Market Adjusted Value cost from $6000 to $3500.
