I’ve never bought an extended warranty when I bought a new car. I don’t see the benefit of buying before near end of manufacturer warranty.

It's cheaper if you buy it before the end of 12 months, which is what I plan to do. No reason to pay interest on an extended warranty for that first year. Although, if we could still get 0% it wouldn't matter.

Bought 7/100K $100 deductible Premium Care from Ziegler Ford for $1,345. I have a 4X2 truck. Then after I got the paperwork about a week later I discovered my 44,000 Ford Pass Points could be redeemed for $220. Ziegler did so over the phone and sent me an email immediately showing a credit back to my card. Very satisfied.

I am carrying the extended warranty I paid on my '20 to my '22 when it arrives. Just need to top up the amount as they are crediting me what's left from the '20.

IMO extended warranty on these are worth the peace of mind.

I just picked up a new Timberline and bought a 7/100k, $50 deductible for $1620 from Flood Ford (NO first day rental, key, or lights bulb options). Apparently Flood sells for $100 over cost. On the past 4 Fords I have bought, I have always gone in with the Flood Ford printout and said to my local dealer, I'll give you $50 over Flood, and they have always said ok. However, this time, the finance manager said no even though they would be making $150 profit for basically completing one form. They said the best they could do was $2000. I said forget it, and bought it through Flood's webpage. It couldn't have been easier going through Flood. I did get the Timberline for $250 under invoice, and a trade value that was $4k over KBB, so perhaps they were just pissed at me after agreeing to that deal back in March.

Check out Grainger Ford. They seem newer to the game, but beat Zeigler, Flood and Lombard. They claim to sell the warranty at $50 over cost. I just bought a 8 yr/100k mile $100 deductible for my 2019. They showed a cost of $1,690 so the price to me was $1,740. I opted to add the lighting warranty (since i have a platinum with all LEDs) for an additonal $70, so was out the door for $1,810.
Thanks about what I paid for 100k miles, $100 deductible with led lamp coverage on my 2018 4X4 Limited when purchased new from Lombard
