Just tinted mine with Ceramic 30%. I could not find 35% pre cut ceramic so I went with 30%. My state has a 33% rule so I figured 30% would work with the error factor. Otherwise I would have to go with non ceramic or 40%. I also tinted the rears with 30% and its kind of limo from the outside but looks good and from the inside really not much difference. Seems a tad darker but not much. You would think factory 20 and a layer of 30% would be super dark but its not.

Just picked up my 2022 Timberline and was wondering what the factory tint is. Looks like the front has none but the backs seem kinda dark maybe 20%? I want to make the backs darker. Has anyone had their Gen 4 tinted all around and what % did you use. Thanks!
I did 20 percent all the way around on all windows and 35 full windshield. Best decision ever.

Just had mine tinted at 20% to match factory tint, just for reference. 6484B2CE-414C-40EC-8C07-9C32603EF341.jpeg

Where do you live that you can get away with those options? Texas any more than 80-90% on the windshield and you can get pulled over quick. Law says 35% on the front side windows but people get away with a little darker depending on your skin tone and parts of Houston you are cruising through.

Can you take some pictures from inside to out for each window? I was really considering 35% all around but might be too dark for the rear windows.

I guess KY’s pretty lax on enforcement. The fronts are illegal, but I think we have a “multi-purpose vehicle” loophole for trucks/vans/SUVs that lets you go all the way to 8% in the back.

As long as there is some light you can see out of everything no problem. But if it’s pitch black with no street lights or other car headlights, the sides are kinda tough.

15-20% on the fronts would be the appropriate tint to match the rears. I have Llumar FormulaOne Pinnacle 15 (19% light transmission) on my front side windows.

I think you need to read very carefully. I also lived in Texas and has the windows tinted legally, but they looked darker than expected. I had a black interior which really helped. You can have very dark tint on the visor strip (NOT the entire windshield) as long as you stay above the AS1 line. You can also tint everything behind the driver seat very dark, except for the rear window. remember this is on top of the factory tint

my favorite part of the texas tint laws is actually the rear window regulations, tl:dr you can completely black out the back glass and side windows behind the front seats if you have two outside side mirrors. Also didn't realize they changed it to 25%, not sure when that occurred as I remember it being 35% not too long ago:

Rear Window

A sunscreening device can be applied to the rear window of the vehicle if the following conditions are met.

  1. If a motor vehicle is equipped with an outside mirror on each side of the vehicle that reflects to the vehicle operator a view of the roadway for a distance of at least 200 feet from the rear of the vehicle then there are no restrictions regarding the sunscreening devices applied to the rear window.
If a motor vehicle is not equipped with such mirrors then the rear window must meet the following standards:

  1. Sunscreening devices, when measured in combination with the original glass, must have a light transmittance value of 25% or more.
  2. Sunscreening devices, when measured in combination with the original glass, must have a luminous reflectance value of 25% or less.

Getting a ticket for window tint from a cop whose car has privacy tint all around is BS!

Many officers also run red lights, speed, etc. with lights/sirens off. When I was in college, my boss at the pizza shop used to sell stolen goods to the patrol officers. After his shop closed down, I went to another and the owner of that place actually had the Sheriff's deputies come and sell him weed that they had confiscated from people they pulled over. It's all BS, but that's the world. :p
