I would not suggest going that route at all. Just check with your local dealer and set up a appointment to have the updated parts installed once they get them in. As long as you don't have the same issue yet (Brakes Just Went Out) just keep on driving for now.

Also you would have to buy a new booster. Gets to be real pricey for a new Master And Booster.

Friday AM, my Expedition has now been at the Dealership since 7:30 AM Monday. Still have not received the new recall replacement parts (Master Cylinder And Brake Booster). Contacted Ford customer service, there first response was we are sorry for the delay you are having, we will look into the problem and contact the dealership. Sooo now I'm renting a car with no assistance from Ford! Maybe next week, not holding my breath however.

Richard - Sorry to hear about your troubles. My service advisor kept the parts for mine under his desk as he knew how hard they are to get. Dropped it off at 7:15 yesterday, picked it up at 4:00. So far no issues. Best of luck to you when you get the parts!

B-McD - Thanks for your replay, glad to know that you got your Expedition repaired. Now I'm jealous LOl. Maybe I should have your service advisor contact mine... I got Ford Customer Service involved with my issue also. Who knows maybe next I will see my unit again.

Finely got my 2017 Expedition repaired under the #22C11 recall for braking issue. It only took One Week to get mine repaired. The dealers don't have the replacement parts in stock. So get with your dealer and schedule your repairs. Don't wait for you brakes to fail because most likely they will.
If you have a 2016 or 2017 Exp. Look up the recall and get a appointment asap to get your Expedition or even your 2016 or 2017 repaired asap.

Glad you got it fixed! It only applies to 3% of the 198K or so produced but that is still almost 6,000 trucks. But I suggest getting the appointment made but not going until they verify the parts are in house.

I took my 2017 in for this recall as soon as I got it. Ford ordered parts and sent me on my way. A week later and 200 miles from home the booster seal failed dramatically. I got a "LOW FLUID" brake light and warning tone. Luckily I was off the HWY and able to pull into a parking which was good because I lost total braking 30 seconds/4 brake pumps after I got the light. I mention so folks will know once it goes pull over fast!

Now I'm at the mercy of the stealership and out pocket for towing and rental car.

Wow, I had mine replaced, while no real issues I have to double pump it to get better braking, but that happened shortly after I upgraded the brakes. Maybe a location thing, but the parts were in the dealership for mine so not an issue in that way; but I still have to double pump the brakes. ?? Not sure it did anything for me except save the potential brake failure mentioned.
